Hi! I’m Melissa.
Aside from being a doula, I am a wife, a mama, a homesteader, and a total birth nerd.
I am originally from the lower mainland, but moved just outside of Kamloops, BC in 2022 while I was 8 months pregnant. I know... Yikes! Haha. We have a little 3 acre homestead with two cats, two dogs, two baby calves, five rabbits, and an obnoxious amount of chickens.
When I am not doulain’ it up, you can find me playing video games with my husband, adventuring with my little mini me, or taking care of our animals and veggie garden.

My journey into becoming a birth worker was inspired by my own perinatal experience. I did all of the things that I thought I was supposed to do to prepare for birth and postpartum. I watched all the videos, read all the books, and spent maaaybe a little too much time on google. But once labour began, it was unlike anything that I was expecting and it left me feeling unprepared, powerless, and scared. I was starting to not believe in myself and my body.
Ha... Birth plan, who?
Then postpartum hit, and dang does she know to throw a good right hook! We moved 3+ hours away from my family and friends 2 months prior to my daughter being born and once we brought her home, I felt like I had no one to count on. It was lonely, challenging, and again, nothing like what I expected. That is when I truly realized why having a support system is so incredibly important during the 4th trimester, whether it be family, friends, or a doula.
After these experiences, I knew that I was meant to work in the birth world. My mission is to support birthing people with trusting in themselves AND their bodies, along with being there for them so they never have to feel unprepared, powerless. or scared.
YOU CAN DO THIS! I am here to make sure that you believe in that.
