Hi! Iβm Melissa.
Aside from being a doula, I am a wife, a mama, a homesteader, and a total birth nerd.
I am originally from the lower mainland, but moved just outside of Kamloops, BC in 2022 while I was 8 months pregnant. I know... Yikes! Haha. We have a little 3 acre homestead with two cats, two dogs, two baby calves, five rabbits, and an obnoxious amount of chickens.
When I am not doulainβ it up, you can find me playing video games with my husband, adventuring with my little mini me, or taking care of our animals and veggie garden.

Iβve always been fascinated by birth, but it wasnβt until I went through my own perinatal experience that I truly felt called to doula work. Like many, I thought I was doing everything βrightβ to prepare. I watched the videos, read the books, and spent maaaybe a little too much time on Google looking up everything. But when labour actually began, it was nothing like I imagined. I felt unprepared, powerless, and scared. I started to doubt not only myself, but my body.
Birth plan? Ha! That went out the window real quick.
Then postpartum hit, and dang does she know to throw a good right hook! Just two months before my daughter was born, we moved over three hours away from all my family and friends. Once we brought her home, I felt isolated, overwhelmed, and again, completely unprepared. That chapter taught me just how vital a solid support system is during the fourth trimester, whether it's family, friends, or a doula.
Those experiences lit a fire in me. I knew I had to be part of the birth world. My mission now is to walk alongside birthing people to help them trust themselves and their bodies, and to make sure they never have to feel alone, unprepared, or powerless.
You can do this. Iβm here to help you believe thatβevery step of the way.
